ADULT BALLET SUMMER WORKSHOP: NOW VIRTUAL
Join dance lovers from across around the world for five days of ballet technique, repertory classes, and more! San Francisco Ballet School’s acclaimed faculty and special guests teach participants through Zoom with live piano accompaniment.
This workshop is for adult dancers ages 18+ who regularly attending ballet classes and have an in-depth knowledge of ballet terminology

- Warm-up Pilates/Mat class
- Ballet Technique class– There will be two levels offered daily (Beginning/Intermediate & Intermediate/Advanced) and you can choose the class you prefer.
- In the afternoon, SF Ballet principal dancer Tiit Helimets and corps de ballet dancer Kimberly Marie Olivier will explore the dynamics of movement in some well-known and loved repertoire, with a particular concentration on port de bras and movement that can be achieved in your home. Épaulement will be your new best friend! It’s all about understanding your space and movement within it, whether you’re dancing on a large stage or in your kitchen. For each class, one of the dancers will teach while the other demonstrates, so you have a clear understanding of the steps to achieve the desired movement quality. There will be time to focus on developing “character” roles as well as general acting/pantomime, plus more!
- Educational classes will rotate each afternoon and will include: Dance History, Music, Injury Prevention, and an informational session about pointe work.
