The War Memorial Opera House is BARTable—the nearest BART station is conveniently located at Civic Center Station, a 10 minute walk from the Opera House.

We encourage you to take public transit, but the Opera House is close to several nearby parking garages.

The Civic Center and Hayes Valley areas can get very busy so please plan accordingly to allow time for traffic and parking. There is construction taking place on Van Ness Avenue as well as performances at Davies Symphony Hall.

Construction is taking place along Hayes Street between Polk and Franklin Street from 8 pm to 7 am from February 12 through March 13, 2020. Please plan accordingly for traffic and parking. For more information, visit sfmta.com.

As part of the Better Market Street project, starting on Wednesday, January 29, no private vehicles will be allowed to travel along Market Street eastbound from 10th St to Main or westbound from Steuart to Van Ness. Traffic will still be able to cross Market, but there will be no turns onto Market into the car-free area. Learn more.

Questions about bringing your children to the Ballet? Check out these helpful tips to make your performance enjoyable for all.

Families who need to step outside the auditorium during the performance can still catch all the magic in a new viewing area on the Dress Circle level. The performance will stream to a monitor so you don't have to miss a moment.

Visit the Shop

Visit The Ballet Shop on the Mezzanine level of the Opera House pre-show and during intermission.

Avoid lines during intermission by pre-ordering cocktails, beverages, and snacks. Prior to a performance, call 415-861-8150, send an email, or check in with a food and beverage server upon your arrival at any point of service.
