Ballet innovation starts in 2021 with two world premieres by San Francisco-based choreographers. SF Ballet Soloist Myles Thatcher, known for his signature blend of innovative movement and social consciousness, creates a new work. Danielle Rowe’s first mainstage production for SF Ballet follows her Gala successes and is sure to delight fans of dramatic, contemporary choreography. Closing the program, Yuri Possokhov’s fan-favorite Swimmer brings audiences on a psychedelic multimedia journey through loneliness, love, and 1960s pop culture.
The 2015 world premiere of Swimmer was made possible by Lead Sponsors Kate and Bill Duhamel, Gaia Fund, Yurie and Carl Pascarella, Judy C. Swanson, and Miles Archer Woodlief, with additional support from the TeRoller Fund for New Productions of the San Francisco Ballet Endowment Foundation.
